We're pleased to bring our recorded lectures direct to your kitchen table! The Law Admissions Academy ran an eight-part law lecture series covering the key areas of law that you can expect to study on an undergraduate law course. At the end of each lecture we took questions from the audience and addressed any law-related questions. We think this is a great way to:

(1) Boost your CV!

You can say that you have attended lectures on all the key areas of law and learned something about each of them. Perhaps you can take an example of a case study that was used and say what you thought about it or how you thought the law could be changed.

(2) Demonstrate interest and deeper understanding!

All students that watch our eight-part lecture series will have a better understanding of the law. While most people attend university without really knowing what a 'tort' is or the basic mechanics of a 'trust', you'll be able to impress from Day 1.

(3) Scratch that intellectual itch!

You want to be a law student after all! This is a fun and accessible way to learn a bit more all from the comfort of home.

Further Information

The law is a complex and unique field: a fascinating blend of the humanities and the sciences with elements of history, psychology, sociology and mathematics all at play. Its mastery can unlock career at the Bar, as a solicitor, as a paralegal or in a wide range of other roles.

However, studying law at University can often seem daunting because legal study is simply not something which most people undertake prior to university. Even for those students that do take Law at A-level or who read all the recommended books, a law degree can still seem opaque. Trying to understand what you're getting yourself into when you sign up to 3 years with concepts such as "equity" or "administrative law" can prove elusive, especially for those whose parents are not from legal backgrounds.

Originally billed as our Online Summer Course 2023 we decided to make the recordings available to students in future years as well. The course serves to demystify higher legal education for those who are - or may be - interested in pursuing legal careers or studying the law for other reasons. The Law Admissions Academy has brought together a range of tutors from Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, Durham, Glasgow and Cardiff universities to develop and deliver a series of eight seminars on the eight subjects that make up the core of an undergraduate law degree.

We hope you enjoy the lectures & best of luck with your applications!
